Here at Proctor’s growing quality plants is our passion, so every week we like to show our customers a different plant that they may not be looking for if they were shopping with us normally.
This weeks plant is Veronica longifolia ‘First Glory’
Upright, long lasting blue flower spikes are carried from early to late summer, above a compact mound of bright green foliage. Height and spread 40cm. Full sun/partial shade. Hardy. Attracts bees and butterflies.
Barry’s Tip – to make the flowering period longer, take the flowers off as soon as you see any seed pods forming. As soon as the plant shows signs of finishing flowering altogether, chop back to 3 to 4 inches tall and there is a good possibility you will have a second flowering from mid September onwards.
