A clump-forming, evergreen perennial with strong, dark-green leaves and an aniseed scent. Stout stems with whorls of deep-maroon, drooping bell-shaped flowers in late spring and summer. Height 80cm. Spread 25cm. Full sun/partial shade, moist soil. Hardy.
