PLANTING AND AFTERCARE GUIDE
Best Planting Time
  • Plant Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ in spring when the soil is workable and beginning to warm.
  • Early autumn planting is also possible, giving the roots an opportunity to establish before growth slows.
Site Selection
  • Choose a position in full sun to support strong growth and plentiful flowering.
  • Prepare the planting area by loosening the soil and incorporating organic matter before planting.
Planting Instructions
  • Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and approximately the same depth.
  • Mix compost or well-rotted organic matter into the excavated soil, position the plant level with the surrounding ground, backfill and firm gently.
  • Water Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ thoroughly after planting.
Watering Requirements
  • Water regularly during the first growing season while the plant establishes. During extended dry periods, water Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ thoroughly to maintain healthy foliage and flower production.
Feeding
  • Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring as new growth develops. A light supplementary feed during the flowering season can help Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ sustain its long display of rich pink blooms.
Pruning
  • Deadhead regularly throughout the flowering period, as removing spent blooms encourages continued flower production. This simple maintenance helps Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ remain colourful through summer and potentially well into autumn.
Mulching
  • Apply organic mulch around the base in spring to suppress weeds, conserve moisture and improve soil structure. Leave a small gap around the crown of the plant.
Supporting the Plant
  • At around 60cm tall, plants will often remain self-supporting. In exposed positions, discreet stakes or support from neighbouring plants can help protect flowering stems.
Final Tips
  • Antirrhinum majus ‘Pretty in Pink’ performs best where it receives plenty of sunlight, and regular deadheading is particularly worthwhile because of its naturally long flowering season. Give Antirrhinum room to develop its approximate 75cm spread and enjoy its rich pink colour over many months.”
