PLANTING AND AFTERCARE GUIDE
Best Planting Time
  • Spring is a good time to establish Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’, particularly while the soil is moist and workable.
  • Early autumn planting is also suitable, allowing the roots to settle before winter.
Site Selection
  • Choose a position in full sun or partial shade. Prepare the soil before planting by loosening compacted ground and incorporating organic matter to support healthy establishment.
Planting Instructions
  • Dig a hole twice the width of the root ball and approximately the same depth.
  • Mix compost or well-rotted organic matter into the excavated soil, set the plant level with the surrounding ground, backfill and firm gently.
  • Water Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’ well after planting.
Watering Requirements
  • Keep newly planted specimens watered during their first growing season, especially during dry spells. Once established.
  • Ater Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’ when prolonged dry conditions leave the soil noticeably dry.
Feeding
  • A light application of balanced fertiliser in spring is usually sufficient to support fresh foliage and flower production. Avoid excessive feeding, which can encourage Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’ to produce overly lush growth.
Pruning
  • Remove faded flower stems if you want to keep the plant tidy or reduce self-seeding. Alternatively, allow some seed heads to mature if you would like Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’ to spread naturally through an informal planting scheme.
Mulching
  • Apply organic mulch around the base in spring to conserve moisture, suppress weeds and improve soil structure. Leave a small gap around the crown.
Supporting the Plant
  • The airy stems generally hold themselves well, although plants in exposed sites may appreciate support from neighbouring perennials or discreet stakes.
Final Tips
  • Anthriscus sylvestris ‘Golden Fleece’ works particularly well in informal borders and naturalistic planting, where its golden foliage provides colour even before the creamy-white flowers appear. Allow your Anthriscus space to develop its 80cm spread and manage self-seeding according to the effect you want to achieve.

I love this nursery. They have a fantastic range of plants, often hard-to-find varieties. Their prices are reasonable in today’s world and plants are a decent size and healthy. They come very well packed and delivery is fast. No complaints at all!
